COACHING PROCESS
A successful coaching relationship begins with a three-month commitment by the client to work with me. This length of commitment is necessary to establish a trusting relationship and to demonstrate the benefits of coaching. The first month begins with an initial in-person interview to determine the client’s current situation, define the scope of the relationship, identify priorities for action, and establish specific desired outcomes.
Subsequent coaching sessions are typically conducted over the telephone, with each session lasting an hour. Between coaching sessions, I ask clients to complete specific actions that drive them toward the achievement of their goals. The frequency and length of the coaching calls varies, depending on client need and preference. I recommend between two to four hours of coaching per month. At the end of the third month, the value of the coaching is evaluated, and a new schedule is established.
At some point in the coaching relationship, I may recommend the use of an assessment tool, such as a leadership effectiveness assessment. That would be an additional fee.
